BSA Gold Star 650 - First Drive Review
The BSA Gold Star 650 boasts a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 652cc engine generating 45 horsepower at 4,000rpm and 55 Newton-meters of torque at 4,000rpm, coupled with a 5-speed transmission for seamless power delivery. Its robust tubular steel dual frame chassis provides stability and agility on the road.
For a smooth ride, the suspension is meticulously tuned, featuring a 41-millimeter telescopic fork at the front and dual rear shock absorbers by Gabriel. Whether cruising or tackling twists and turns, this setup ensures all-day comfort.
Equipped with a Brembo braking system, the Gold Star utilizes a single 320-millimeter floating disc in the front and a 255-millimeter rear disc, both supported by ABS for enhanced safety. Its timeless design is complemented by wired spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tires (100/90-18 front, 150/70-R17 rear), providing reliable traction and stability.
Furthermore, the bike's aesthetics are accentuated by a low seat height of 780 millimeters, catering to riders of various sizes. The classic teardrop-shaped 12-liter fuel tank not only adds to its vintage charm but also ensures ample range for long journeys.

Last bsa i had was a 1972 lightning it was three months old when i got it was my second motorcycle have been riding since 1970 90cc to 1400cc got my goldstar this year great machine well built loved my A65L but this is for the roads today 100% seen plenty of comments its not a real bsa its built in India some from triumph owners which are built in Thailand great to see the name back on the road had mine out yesterday on the back roads if northern ireland brilliant
